Jessica Gonzalez-Smith Receives Nicsa Rising Star Award

American Century Investments® names Jessica Gonzalez-Smith as 2024 Nicsa Rising Star Award Recipient

American Century Investments, the $248 billion* global asset manager announced that Solution Architect Advisor Jessica Gonzalez-Smith was recognized as a Rising Star by the National Investment Company Service Association (Nicsa). Nicsa's Diversity Project North America (DPNA) provides mentorship, networking and career development opportunities to diverse, aspiring leaders in the asset management industry.

"Jessica excels in collaborating and leading cross-functional teams to design, deliver and support some of the most critical and innovative technology platforms that drive the ongoing growth of American Century Investments," said Lauren Gebhardt, director of talent acquisition. "Her inclusive technical leadership approach and her focus on user needs not only consistently surpass expectations but also empower her colleagues throughout the organization to achieve greater success."

Gonzalez-Smith actively participates in the company's Volunteer with Impact and Purpose group, organizing and leading numerous community service projects. She participated in various fundraisers that donated to Children's Mercy Hospital, which showcases her dedication to making a positive impact within and beyond the organization, according to Gebhardt.

"I never would've thought that I would be the one person chosen from American Century Investments for this amazing award," said Gonzalez-Smith. Gonzalez-Smith began her career at American Century as an IT intern in the 2015 program. She was hired on full-time in 2016 as a programmer analyst associate, has received several promotions and currently serves as a solution architect advisor. She attended Missouri State University and received degrees in computer information systems and Spanish.
